Frequently Asked Questions
Do the minutes shown with the services reflect the total time for my appointment?
The minutes shown for services reflect the actual amount of time that you will be receiving care in your session.
Additional time, before and after your session, is used for paperwork, discussion, assessment, undressing and dressing, payment, and rescheduling. None of this is counted as a part of your session.
If, for example, you book a Signature 70 massage session, your actual appointment length will be 90 minutes. This is to allow for the 'before and after' time, while leaving you the full 70 minutes for your massage.
Why do you offer session lengths of 40, 70, and 100 minutes?
It is just my way of emphasizing that you get the full amount of time you pay for when you book with me.
In some settings, you may book a one hour appointment and receive about 50 minutes, or less, of session time.
My model turns that around and, instead of getting 10 minutes less for your hour, I offer 10 minutes more or, essentially, a '70 minute hour.'
In fact, if you are accustomed to a 50 minute massage, I invite you to try out my Signature 70 massage session and see the difference an additional 20 minutes, with no rush before or after, can make.
Do I have to get completely undressed?
The short answer is a definitive no. Your level of undress is completely up to you.
Many clients will completely undress before getting onto the table and under the top linens. There are valid reasons for this including providing ideal access to certain muscle groups, like those associated with your lower back, hamstrings, and hips.
However, many other clients choose to keep clothing on. For instance, undressing but keeping their underwear on.
For sports massage, or similar work, some clients choose to wear shorts and, in the case of female clients, a sports bra or other, similar top, in order to receive work.
I have provided work on my massage table to clients who are completely undressed and also clients who have opted to remain completely dressed and various levels of undress in between.
It's always up to you!
Your comfort level and safety are top-priority.
If I'm undressed, will I be kept covered?
Absolutely. You will be carefully and securely draped throughout your session. Typically, only the area of the body being addressed is uncovered.
The genital area is always covered and, for female clients, the breasts area is as well. This is my policy and also in compliance with state law and the code of ethics for massage therapists.
If you have any specific concerns about being properly covered or receiving contact to any area that may be included in your massage, please let me know and your wishes will be respected and honored.
